The Universal Education Foundation, in cooperation with the Thalassemia Patients friends
society and with support from UNFPA, conducted a wellbeing promotion workshop on June 22,
2026, at the Community Center for Thalassemia Patients in Tulkarm. The workshop brought
together 25 female patients and mothers of thalassemia patients.
The workshop aimed to strengthen participants\u2019 knowledge of family planning, psychosocial
support, and stress management to enhance the wellbeing of thalassemia patients and their
families and support their ability to cope with disease-related challenges.
Key topics included the importance of family planning for female patients, adherence to
treatment plans, the psychosocial impact of living with thalassemia, positive adaptation, and
practical stress-management strategies.
Through discussions and interactive activities, participants explored wellbeing as a holistic
concept encompassing physical, psychological, mental, emotional, and social health. The
workshop highlighted the importance of recognizing individual differences in personality,
learning styles, and coping approaches, and of providing tailored support that strengthens
resilience and promotes overall wellbeing.
The sessions also emphasized that understanding one\u2019s condition, managing emotions and stress
effectively, and building self-confidence can improve treatment adherence and contribute to a
more balanced and stable life.
Participants actively engaged in open discussions, group exercises, relaxation activities, and the
exchange of experiences, helping to create a supportive environment that fostered mutual
encouragement and learning.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants stressed the importance of continuing awareness,
psychosocial support, and community-based programs that empower families and improve the
quality of life of thalassemia patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
